Instead of calling it Superman, Chris Nolan and David S. Goyer suggested the movie’s name to be Man of Steel to distinguish between the old and new Superman along with symbolizing Superman to be made of steel rather than flesh and blood.

The movie portrays the life of a young boy who has unique powers. Knowing the truth that he does not belong to Earth, he sets himself on a journey to find the place of his origin and the reason for which he was sent here. The standard form as well as limited edition deluxe versions of the album Man of Steel Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be released by WaterTower Music on June 11, 2013. Various awards winning composer Hans Zimmer composed the music for the movie. It is for the first time that he is working with director Zack Snyder.

Zimmer made huge efforts to create the best music for the film. He got together two distinct musical entities in addition to his orchestral arrangements to compose the music.  Firstly he got a drum orchestra comprising some of the best drummers in the world who played rock drum kits as well as tympani and field drums. Secondly he gathered eight elegant pedal steel guitarists to play classical string section parts.
